What's Going On?

I heard Marvin Gaye's song "What's Going On?" recently, and it made me think about the way a lot of things are being portrayed in the media.

When did we become such a gang? What happened to love and understanding? When did we have to get back at people for what they've done to our people? How is that going to stop them from wanting to get back at us for what we plan to do to them? When did we become us versus them because we can't work together to solve our world's problems? There's no working with them because they're illogical and is there any working with us because we already made up our minds that they're illogical?

"Actions have reactions, don't be quick to judge. You may not know the hardships people don't speak of. It's best to step back and observe with couth. For we all must meet our moment of truth."
- Gang Starr

Why are lyrics from a rapper showing more love and understanding them some of the things I hear and read about today?

I'm excited. I love being alive. I like the feeling of making a difference in people's lives. I love this country. I love this world. I love going to new places. I can't help but think of a Gza lyric.

Why should you die to go to heaven?
- Gza

We make this world hell ourselves. We divide ourselves. We divide our country. We divide our world. I'm not naive and think that we can all get together and fix all our problems, but we got to at least have the right mind set of let's work on it. Why does everything seem like it boils down to they are a greater evil and we are causing a lesser evil? A lesser evil is still worst than a greater good or a lesser good? Focus on making a small difference in a positive way as oppose to hurting them more since it's justified as a lesser evil in comparison to their evil.

Two head are not better than one if they can't work together. They hold each other back. Two people who somewhat work together can get the same work done as one person without as much effort. Two people who are in sync can do amazing things that one person alone can't do.

Why am I quoting Wu-Tang of all people? I know there has to be some positive media out there but it seems the mainstream media in my face is just promoting such a negative path. When did the focus get off of being good people to how evil they are? Us versus them like it's our gang versus theirs?

Separate Egg Yolks from Egg Whites

They never taught us in culinary school to separate egg yolks from egg whites like this...
